Our Commitment
No newsroom gets every detail right every time. We hold ourselves to a high standard of accuracy, but we also accept that errors will occasionally make it into a published article. What matters is how we respond when that happens.
We do not quietly edit articles and hope nobody notices. We disclose what went wrong, what the accurate information is, and when the fix was made.
Types of Corrections
We categorize corrections based on how significantly the error affects the article.
- Corrections. A correction is issued when an article contains a factual error that affects the meaning or accuracy of the reporting. Examples include a wrong name, an incorrect statistic, a misattributed quote, or a factual claim that turns out to be false. The correction is displayed at the top of the article with a note explaining what was changed and the date of the update.
- Clarifications. A clarification is added when the original article was not technically wrong but could reasonably be misunderstood. If the wording was unclear or lacked necessary context, we revise the text and add a clarification note at the top of the article.
- Updates. An update is added when new information becomes available after publication. This is not a correction of an error but an addition of new facts to a developing story. Updates are marked with the time and date they were added.
- Minor fixes. Typos, broken links, formatting issues, and small grammatical errors are fixed without a formal correction notice. These changes do not affect the substance of the article.
- Retractions. In rare cases, an article may need to be retracted entirely. This happens when the central claim or premise of the story is found to be false or unsupported. Retracted articles are not deleted. Instead, a retraction notice replaces the original content, with an explanation of why the article was pulled.
How Corrections Are Displayed
Corrections, clarifications, and retraction notices appear at the top of the affected article so they are the first thing a reader sees. Each notice includes:
- A description of the original error or issue.
- The corrected or clarified information.
- The date and time the correction was made.
We do not remove or hide the original error from the article’s revision history. Transparency means showing what changed, not just showing the final result.
How to Report an Error
If you spot something wrong in one of our articles, we want to hear from you. Readers are often the first to catch mistakes, and we appreciate every report.

- The title or URL of the article in question.
- The specific error you found.
- Any supporting evidence or sources, if available.
You do not need to provide proof for us to look into it. A simple heads-up is enough to start our review.
Response Time
We aim to review correction requests within 48 hours of receiving them. If the error is clear and verifiable, we will issue the correction as soon as possible, often within the same day.
More complex cases, where additional fact-checking or source verification is needed, may take longer. If that happens, we will acknowledge your report and let you know we are looking into it.
Editorial Accountability
Our editorial team is responsible for the accuracy of everything published on this site. When a correction is issued, the editor overseeing the article reviews what went wrong and takes steps to prevent similar errors in the future.
We view corrections not as failures but as part of doing honest journalism. A newsroom that never corrects anything is not a newsroom that never makes mistakes. It is a newsroom that ignores them.
